Kilometre of Sculpture Satellite Program kmX
OPEN CALL

Kilometre of Sculpture is pleased to announce the open call for the satellite program (kmX) of its 2016 exhibition. Galleries, project spaces, professional curators, artists or artist groups and collectives are invited to apply. The exhibition is open 2 – 24 July in the town of Rakvere in northern Estonia.

KmX grew out of our commitment in general to contribute to the cultural vitality of regional towns, and our wish in particular to present additional content for our host city from or inspired by similar small or regional urban settings. To that end, we seek proposals that represent a meaningful exchange and well-intentioned gesture either from applicants that are themselves from a similar regional town or from those that concur with the idea of countering the focus on capital cities and major centres.

KmS will publish information about exhibitions and events included in kmX on the Kilometre of Sculpture website and will also support the program with active communication via news and social media. KmS will provide a venue, and solid practical and technical support from our installation team, but will request that participants make applications to their local funds (e.g. Nordic Mobility Fund) for support to cover the necessities associated with realising their project.

Art institutions, collectives or individuals interested in applying should see the instructions for applying at www.sculpture.ee/en/exhibition/kmx/open-call

Applications close midnight 24 March 2016
